Part-Time Nanny + Family Assistant: Verona, WI

apply

A warm and welcoming family in Verona, WI is seeking an experienced, long-term Nanny + Family Assistant to become an integral part of their home and support their growing family.

Both parents have demanding professional careers and are looking for someone who is proactive, organized, kind, dependable, and genuinely enjoys creating a calm, well-run household. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who loves the combination of hands-on childcare and family assistance and takes pride in making life easier for the family they support.

The Children

The family has two happy, easygoing little ones.

Their oldest, 3.5 years old, is intelligent, thoughtful, and curious. He loves books, music, art projects, cooking and baking, and learning through hands-on experiences. He has embraced his role as a big sibling beautifully and thrives with a caregiver who enjoys engaging with him, following his interests, and creating meaningful experiences together.

Their youngest, 5 months old, is a sweet and content baby who is just beginning solids. The family is looking for someone who is confident and experienced with infants and will provide a calm, nurturing environment while supporting his routines, development, and milestones as he grows.

Their Approach to Childcare

The family values a child-centered approach with an emphasis on creativity, outdoor time, healthy whole foods, and meaningful engagement. They are a screen-free household and hope to find someone who genuinely enjoys being present and engaged with the children.

Days might include reading together, baking or cooking, art projects, outdoor adventures, attending classes and activities, exploring the community, and creating developmentally appropriate experiences based on the children's evolving interests.

They are looking for a nanny who can confidently take ownership of the children's days — balancing routines and consistency with plenty of creativity, play, learning, and fun.

Nanny + Family Assistant Responsibilities

The family is looking for someone who can confidently take ownership of both the children's care and the household responsibilities that help their home run smoothly.

During childcare hours, the children will always be the priority. During school, naps, and other natural pockets of the day, the nanny will transition into house management and family assistant responsibilities.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Family laundry and linens
  • Grocery shopping and household errands
  • Returns and exchanges
  • Children's meal and snack preparation
  • Light family meal preparation as mutually agreed upon
  • Organizing children's rooms, closets, toys, and play spaces
  • Maintaining and resetting common areas
  • Light kitchen cleanup and daily household resets
  • Seasonal organization and rotating children's clothing/items
  • Keeping household and children's supplies stocked
  • Helping coordinate children's activities, classes, and outings
  • Proactively noticing and completing tasks that support the family's daily flow

The family does not expect deep cleaning. Rather, they are looking for someone with a true house manager mentality — someone who notices what needs to be done, takes initiative, and enjoys creating order and ease within a busy household.

Their Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is resourceful, emotionally intelligent, organized, proactive, and an excellent communicator. They should be comfortable working independently, making thoughtful decisions throughout the day, and taking genuine ownership of their role.

The family values someone who is receptive to feedback and communicates openly with the parents, while also bringing their own experience, ideas, and professional judgment to the position.

Most importantly, they are hoping to find someone who views this as a long-term career opportunity and is excited to become a trusted part of their family's support system for years to come.

The family also has one friendly dog and two affectionate cats, so candidates should genuinely enjoy and feel comfortable around pets.

Schedule

The position will include a combination of Nanny and /Family Assistant hours throughout the week.

Monday: 7:30 AM–5:00 PM

  • Full nanny day
  • Their oldest attends school from approximately 8:00 AM–12:00 PM, allowing for one-on-one time with the baby in the morning

  • A combination of infant care and dedicated Family Assistant/House Manager time

There may also be opportunities for additional hours depending on the family's schedule and needs.

  • Guaranteed hours/pay
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Paid time off

Start Date
