Tailor Made Nannies

The Process

  • 1. The New Client Form- Starts the process and helps us get a better idea of what you're looking for.

  • 2. Complimentary Phone Consultation Upon receipt of your new client form, we will set up a family consultation over the phone to discuss your family needs and working with Tailor Made Nannies in greater detail. *There will be a non-refundable search fee of $500 due at this time to continue the process.

  • 3. Family-Agency Zoom Meeting:   We pride ourselves on making lasting connections between the families we work with and the nannies we place with them. This is largely due to the time we take getting to know our clients and nannies on a personal level. This meeting will serve as a chance for us to do just that. We will discuss your family's core values, culture and other important factors that we will use to create a family profile and job description. Your family profile will help match you with qualified nannies.

  • 4.  Search & Recruitment: Tailor Made Nannies undertakes an in-depth look at numerous potential candidates for your position and has them go through a thorough 2-step interview process, followed by reference checking from past childcare employers. From the pool of candidates, you will be given 2-5 of the top nanny's profiles and resumes to look over, referring only those qualified and fitting to your family's unique needs. *Please note: the current timeline for recruitment is 4-6 weeks

  • 5.  Family + Nanny Interviews:  This is your chance to meet & get to know the candidates. We help schedule interviews between you and the candidates and set you up with interview questions for ease and convenience.

  • 6. Background Check + Offer Letter:  Once you choose to move forward with a candidate, Tailor Made Nannies runs a full background check which includes a national criminal check + sex offender registry, social security trace, county court records of recent and prior counties, full driving record report, and national alias search. We then help determine the terms of the offer and write up the offer letter. We are also here to assist in any negotiating between you and the candidate.

  • 7. Hiring: Once the offer is accepted, the placement fee is due to the agency. Tailor Made Nannies will provide you with a Family + Nanny Agreement template that can be customized to reflect your needs, setting both parties up for success. We also set you up with a complimentary consultation with our partners at HomePay to answer any questions you may have about nanny taxes, and should you choose, help get payroll set up. *Your first month is free as a Tailor Made Nannies client!

  • 8. Long Term Success: Tailor Made Nannies checks in regularly throughout your nanny's employment to ensure all is going smoothly. We are here to provide ongoing support and to help address your needs as they arise & change during the employment of your nanny.

  •  Six Month Grace Period:  We do everything in our power to create long-term and successful matches for our families and nannies, but understand unforeseen circumstances can arise. For this reason, we offer a 6 month grace period with all full-time and part-time placements. If during the first 6 months something doesn't work out, we send you up to two additional candidates with no additional fees due.

Positions We Fill

Full or part-time nanny position

Full or Part-Time Nannies are placed to establish a long-term relationship for your children and family. We ask our nannies for at least a one year commitment but these positions can last for several years. Nannies of full and part-time positions are responsible for ensuring children’s safety, maintaining children’s daily routines, engaging children in age appropriate activities, and helping them meet their developmental milestones. Typical duties for these positions include: organizing play dates or outings, driving children to activities or appointments, preparing healthy meals & snacks, cleaning children’s laundry, helping to maintain clean bedrooms & play areas. *These duties vary for each position, due to the unique needs of each family.

nanny house manager

A nanny house manager is an ideal caregiver for the busy family who needs help maintaining the day-to-day household organization.  Along with the full/part-time nanny duties listed above, a nanny manager assists with other household duties, which can include but are not limited to: family errands, grocery shopping, scheduling appointments, meal prep & cooking family meals, managing other household staff, etc. This type of position is usually full-time but can look different for each family.

mother's helper

A Mother's Helper can be a full or part-time position and is where the mother or father stays at home with the child(ren) and needs an extra set of hands from the nanny. The nanny's duties can range from the typical full/part-time nanny duties listed above, or can be as simple as lending a hand when Mom or Dad need it.

Summer Nanny

A Summer Nanny is wonderful for families who only need care during the Summer months, when children are home from school. Typical duties can range depending on each families needs and ages of children but likely include driving children to and from activities, scheduling play-dates, preparing well balanced meals and snacks, and helping maintain play areas with the children. This position goes from May/June to August/September.

Nanny share

A nanny share is when one nanny is hired to provide childcare for two families. Typically, the nanny cares for the children at one house, but the days can alternate between houses as well. This type of position is a great opportunity to have a high-quality nanny and split the cost of salary with another family. Families that go in on a nanny share typically live close and have similar work schedules. Nanny shares can be full or part time care.
