Nanny House Manager: Shorewood Hills (Madison), WI

Shorewood Hills | Nanny + House Manager

A warm and loving family in the beautiful Shorewood Hills neighborhood is seeking a long-term nanny and house manager to join their team.

They are seeking someone who shares their values of kindness, open communication, and consistency; + someone who can provide loving care for their 5-year-old son and 3-month-old daughter, while also helping to streamline their home life in a thoughtful, balanced way.

About the Family
This is a kind, communicative, and close-knit family of four. They value time together, love going for walks, playing board games, enjoying movie nights, and supporting creativity in their kids. They are seeking a nanny who brings warmth, initiative, and a strong sense of responsibility—someone who enjoys both childcare and household management and can help create more space for quality family time.

Children

  • Infant (3 months): She’s eating and sleeping well and has a deep love for snuggles!

  • 5-year-old son: The 5-year-old is sweet, imaginative, and full of energy. He’s a big fan of vehicles, Legos, and pretend play, with a love for building, inventing, and drawing. Described as playful and empathetic, he’s a "big feeler" who thrives with consistency and gentle guidance. He loves school and is starting kindergarten in Fall!

Ideal Nanny

The family is searching for a nanny who:

  • Values Safety: A nanny who is health and safety conscious is their top priority. This includes following car seat safety guidelines, ensuring age-appropriate supervision, and maintaining best practices to keep the children healthy and safe indoors and outdoors.
  • Is Kind and Firm: Someone who is kind yet firm, consistent, and able to gently recenter the children when needed. They value honesty and direct communication in their working relationship.
  • Takes Initiative: A nanny who can handle daily routines, is organized, and keeps the household running smoothly will be a great fit for their family dynamic.

Primary Duties

Childcare Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety at all times both indoors and outdoors
  • Assist with morning routines: helping the 5-year-old get dressed, eat breakfast, and get to preschool safely.
  • Plan and engage in age-appropriate activities to foster creativity, emotional growth, and development.
  • Mom will primarily care for the infant, but if needed, they are looking for someone who can provide thoughtful and attentive care, ensuring all of the baby’s needs are fully met.

Light Housekeeping and Meal Prep:

  • Tidy play areas and maintain organized, intentional shared spaces

  • Prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks for the children, encouraging them to try new foods

  • Stay informed about food recalls and ensure proper preparation of fruits and vegetables

Household Support:

  • Keep common areas neat and organized

  • Manage light household laundry, including children’s items and occasional family laundry

  • Run occasional errands, return packages, and monitor inventory of essentials (diapers, wipes, snacks, etc.)

  • Prepare simple, healthy meals and snacks for the children

  • Help streamline household tasks to maximize quality family time for the parents

  • Work in harmony with Mom to "divide and conquer household tasks"

Schedule + Compensation:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Tuesday: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

(Some flexibility as needed is appreciated)

  • Compensation: $27-30/hour BOE

  • Benefits:

    • 30 hours/week guaranteed

    • 5 days PTO (nanny’s choosing) + 2+ weeks aligned with family travel

    • 5 paid sick days

    • Paid federal holidays

    • Mileage reimbursement or use of family vehicle

    • Health insurance or wellness stipend

Start Date: ASAP (Flexible for the right fit)

This is a wonderful opportunity for a nanny who enjoys childcare and thoughtful home management (emphasis here), and who is seeking a long-term position with a caring, supportive family. They’re eager to welcome someone who will become a trusted part of their family life and help create more space for connection and ease in the day-to-day. They envision the nanny being with them for years to come!
