Part-Time Toddler Nanny: DeForest, WI

This warm, laid-back family recently moved back to Wisconsin and is excited to put down roots with their three-year-old son. They live on a beautiful property near Token Creek Conservancy, with plenty of space to adventure, explore, and enjoy the outdoors.

Both parents have demanding careers, making their time together at home especially meaningful. Their weekdays can be busy, but they value a relaxed home environment and spending their downtime reading, being outside, and simply enjoying one another. They are hoping to find a nanny who will help their son make the most of his days while becoming a trusted and valued part of their family.

Children:

Their three-year-old son is sweet, thoughtful, naturally curious, and loves understanding how things work. He is beginning daycare for additional socialization, while his nanny will provide a more personalized environment two days a week focused on learning, creativity, and following his interests.

He especially enjoys exploring the family’s property and being outdoors, along with arts and crafts and educational activities. He has a very analytical mind and is fascinated by everyday mechanics — from the dryer to the air conditioning and everything in between. He loves asking questions, figuring things out, and understanding the reasoning behind how and why things work.

His nanny will have the opportunity to build on these interests while creating a childhood filled with hands-on learning, imagination, creativity, and plenty of fun.

The family is looking for an experienced, educationally minded nanny who enjoys thoughtfully planning a child’s day and creating activities that encourage learning and discovery. Someone who can develop simple lesson plans, follow his interests, and introduce him to new experiences would be a wonderful fit.

They value a nanny who communicates openly, works collaboratively with parents, and is comfortable maintaining consistent boundaries and expectations. Flexibility and a team-oriented approach are important, as they want their nanny to feel like an extension of their family rather than simply someone who comes into the home to provide care.

Creativity is a wonderful bonus! They would love someone who enjoys making everyday moments and special occasions meaningful, whether through a fun project, holiday activity, or thoughtful celebration.

Their Golden Retriever is an important part of the family, so a nanny who genuinely loves dogs is essential. The nanny may occasionally be asked to take him for a walk as part of the family’s daily rhythm. They should also be comfortable driving their son to classes, activities, and outings within the community.

The family’s parenting style blends gentle parenting with a little bit of the “90s mom” mentality — encouraging their son to get dirty, explore, experience the world, and take reasonable risks while maintaining clear boundaries around safety.

The primary responsibility will be caring for their son and creating a fun, enriching, and developmentally appropriate day for him.

Additional responsibilities will include:

• Preparing meals and snacks for him
• Meal prep for the week (child-related) + helping to keep kitchen tidy
• Keeping his spaces and belongings organized
• Helping maintain the daily rhythm and flow of his care
• Driving him to classes, activities, and community outings
• Occasional dog walking as needed

Monday & Wednesday | 7:30 AM–5:30 PM
20 guaranteed hours per week

For the right long-term candidate, there may be an opportunity to add additional hours through household-management responsibilities.

$26–$30/hour
