Nanny House Manager: Maple Bluff (Madison, WI)

This warm and thoughtful family in Madison’s Maple Bluff neighborhood is expecting their third child at the end of August and is seeking a calm, organized, and engaging nanny to join their family in early September.

They are a kind, intentional household that values partnership, communication, and a nurturing environment for their children. A truly wonderful family.

Their two older boys, ages 4 and 2, are incredibly sweet, affectionate, and playful. The oldest is a gentle, imaginative child who enjoys independent play but also loves connecting with his parents.

The younger sibling brings a playful and humorous energy—he’s currently convinced he’s a stormtrooper—and keeps everyone smiling! The boys adore one another, play beautifully together, and have a lovely balance in their personalities. Both are verbal, social, and enjoy engaging in conversation. The family takes a positive, respectful approach to parenting, focusing on reinforcing positive behavior and thoughtfully working through challenges together.

Both children are currently in their first year of school and are thriving. The family encourages curiosity, creativity, and getting out into the community—whether that’s library time, music classes, or outdoor adventures.

The ideal nanny for this family is calm, grounded, and highly organized, with a strong understanding of early childhood development. Someone who can confidently manage routines, navigate sibling dynamics, and communicate clearly will thrive in this role. The family would love a nanny who is proactive, tech-comfortable (for coordinating schedules and communication), and able to “go with the flow” while also leaning into established systems when needed. Flexibility is appreciated, especially for additional hours when mutually beneficial.

Mom works from home and is very collaborative, particularly in the early months as they transition with a newborn. The role will initially include a blend of infant care and household support, evolving into more structured childcare as the baby grows. The family values teamwork, especially during the after-school and evening hours.

The anticipated schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, with the opportunity for additional hours for the right candidate. The family is open to a more full-time schedule if there is strong alignment.

Proposed Schedule (Flexible):

  • 12:00–4:00 PM: Focus on infant care (once baby is ~6 months old) / Household support when Mom is still on maternity leave
  • 4:00 PM: One caregiver (nanny or mom) picks up older children
  • 5:00–8:00 PM: Nanny and mom work together to manage after-school routines and the evening transition

In the earlier months, while the infant is still very young, the role will include more household support and assisting mom as a mother’s helper.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $30–33/hour, depending on experience
  • Guaranteed hours, including any additional hours requested
  • Use of family vehicle (minivan) or nanny’s car as preferred
  • Supportive, collaborative work environment
  • Full benefits: PTO, additional PTO when the family travels, sick pay, holiday pay, option for a health insurance stipend, generous bonuses

The family encourages outings and adventures and loves seeing their children out in the community. They also have a cargo bike for outdoor fun and exploration!

This is a truly special opportunity to work with a kind, intentional family who deeply values their caregiver and is excited to welcome the right person into their home.
