Full-Time Toddler Nanny: Madison, WI

A warm and down-to-earth family in Madison, WI is looking for a nurturing and proactive nanny to join their family. 

Both parents are physicians with demanding schedules and cherish their downtime at home. They love spending time together as a family, taking long walks with their toddler and two dogs, exploring the local farmers market, and enjoying simple pleasures like baking, gardening, and cooking together. 

The toddler is a happy, loving, and spirited little girl who brings so much joy to those around her. At 18 months, her personality is really starting to shine. She’s strong-willed, funny, and loves to make others laugh. She adores reading, playing, and mimicking what Mom and Dad do, often pointing at things with curiosity. She also loves snuggling and is very sweet, warm, and affectionate. She’s starting to walk with support and is growing more independent by the day. 

Mom and Dad are looking for someone who will become an extension of their parenting, providing their daughter with the same level of attention, care, and warmth that they do. 

The ideal candidate will be proactive, engaged, and enthusiastic about planning educational and developmental activities. Someone who enjoys the outdoors and will plan fun outings such as music or art classes, trips to the library, and neighborhood walks will thrive in this role. Mom and Dad are hoping for a nanny who has experience in child development, possibly a former educator, who is comfortable with toddler development stages and can create a nurturing and stimulating environment for their daughter.

The nanny should be flexible and adaptable, as both parents work in medicine, with rotating schedules. A calm, go-with-the-flow demeanor will be essential, especially in managing the busy and sometimes chaotic household, including our two energetic dogs (lovingly named after Star Wars characters)!  Mom and Dad value open communication and would love someone who can make recommendations, take initiative, and be a true partner in their daughter's care. They are happy to get any materials needed for projects the nanny plans and welcomes new ideas!

Additional Information:

• Pets: The family has two Goldendoodles who are loving members of their family. The nanny should be comfortable around dogs and able to manage small tasks related to their care, such as retrieving toys or tidying up after them. 
• Food Preferences: The family prioritizes healthy, organic foods and limits processed foods and sugar. They would love a nanny who prioritizes this as well and enjoys making food from scratch. 
• Home Atmosphere: The family wants their nanny to feel at home and be a true part of their family. They hope to find a nanny to be with them for years to come! 

Schedule & Benefits:

• Core hours are Monday through Friday, starting no earlier than 6:30 AM and ending around 5:30 PM, depending on mom’s two-week hospital rotation. Longer work weeks will be balanced with shorter ones. *Schedule averages ~80 hours bi-weekly.

Example of typical two week schedule: 

• Occasional weekend days are needed (up to 6 per year), with at least three months' advanced notice when both Mom and Dad are on call
• Pay range: $26-30/hr, with overtime.
• Benefits include 5 days of PTO of the nanny’s choosing, additional PTO when the family is on vacation (at least two weeks per year), 5 sick days, optional health insurance stipend, standard federal holidays that align with the hospital schedule, mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate, and yearly raises/bonuses.
