A fun-loving + down-to-earth family in Sussex, WI is looking for an experienced and kind nanny for their 7 year old autistic son.
As a family, they love to be outdoors, going for walks on the ice age trail, swimming and horse back riding. Mom and Dad are also huge lovers of video games!
The 7 year old is very loving, sweet, curious and kind. He loves the water and snow - he can play in it for hours! He is a huge nature lover and enjoys watching planet earth and playing Pokemon.
With being on the spectrum, he craves and needs routine. He loves knowing what is planned for the day and truly thrives knowing what is coming next. He has started speaking in the last two years and has found ways to communicate his needs successfully to those around him. He continues to work on speech but has come such a long way!
The ideal candidate will be extremely patient; have a calm, loving, laid-back, and warm personality, and be confident in maintaining his afternoon schedule.
The nanny will be fully responsible for school-pick, managing the after-school schedule, preparing snacks + occasionally dinner, and providing a safe + loving environment to settle & relax in after busy, full days of school + activities. The nanny will also help with homework and take-home speech therapy work.
The family hopes to find a nanny who has hands-on experience with autism. They are open to training someone, but any experience with special needs is a major plus. The would love someone to be present + engaging with their son, helping him work on fine motor skills (art projects!) and giving him the space to have down-time when needed. They family looks at the nanny as an extension of their parenting team and truly value the nanny's role.
When there is down-time, the family would appreciate help tidying the first floor, keeping the son's room tidy + organized and keeping counters clean/dishes done. These duties are secondary and can be completed when the son is not in the home. The family is open to adding on a few extra hours to complete these if the nanny is interested.
The family is hoping to find a nanny who has flexibility in their schedule to work the occasional late night when mom is working late. Someone who has a flexible schedule, great sense of humor, and is extremely dependable will be a great fit for this family.
The family truly values the nanny's role + expertise and does not wish to micromanage the nanny's day. They look forward to welcoming them to their family and hope to find someone long-term!

Schedule: Monday-Friday: 3:30pm-6pm *extra house managing hours available if nanny desires
*Schedule will be Full-Time hours in the summers: this can be broken up into two positions as part-time nanny for the school year and a full-time summer nanny for the summertime or one position for the right candidate
Compensation: $20-25/hr
Benefits: guaranteed pay each week, 14 days PTO of nanny's choice, PTO when family takes vacation, paid federal holidays, raises and bonuses based on performance
Notes:
-considering both covid-vaccinated + unvaccinated candidates, but will ask the nanny to wear a mask if sick and unvaccinated.
-family has two sweet rescue dogs
