A nature loving, fun, and welcoming family in Madison is looking for a part-time nanny for their 7 & 2.5 year old boys (with the main focus on their 2.5 year old).
As a family they enjoy all things outdoors (canoeing, hiking, biking, nature walks, etc) and currently have a goal to visit every National Park! Both Mom and Dad have a background in Environmental Science and when they aren't working, they enjoy spending quality time with their boys.
The 7 year old loves to be creative, build with his legos and adventure around to local parks. He starts first grade in the Fall and will be in the nanny's care after school and when there is no school. When he comes home from school, the nanny will be responsible for helping him get settled with a snack and when needed, helping with any schoolwork (rare) he brings home. The nanny will also be responsible for school drop-off and pick up.
The 2 year old will be the nanny's main priority. He has begun expanding his language and loves to chat! The family hopes to find a nanny that will converse with him about the day and encourage his speech development. He loves reading, going for walks, adventuring to the local parks, building (and knocking down) legos and doing all things big brother is doing.
The ideal candidate will be extremely reliable, patient, compassionate, engaging, be able to keep up with the boys' energy and have a love for the outdoors.
The nanny's #1 priority will be providing a safe, loving and nurturing environment for the toddler to grow, learn and play in. When there is down time, the family would appreciate help emptying/loading the dishwasher, kids laundry + sheets & towels, tidying the children's play areas and making the 7 year old's bed.
Once COVID is no longer a major concern, the family envisions the nanny planning fun outings for their toddler to take part in and encourages trips to the zoo, children's museum, Olbrich Gardens, etc. The family will provide a car for the nanny's use during working hours.
The family is hoping to find a nanny that will grow with them and be with them long-term. They view the nanny as an extension of the family and a part of their parenting team. They truly appreciate the nanny's role and want the nanny to feel supported and respected.
The family is interviewing now with the position to start beginning of August.
